All products manufactured by or for The Smart Lighting Company (TSLC) are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for up to five (5) years from the date of shipment for all products that contain the “5 Year Warranty icon. TSLC will repair or replace, at its option, any TSLC part that has been determined by TSLC to have failed due to defective materials or workmanship. This Limited Warranty is available to the original purchaser only and does not extend to any other person or company.

This warranty excludes and acts as a disclaimer of liability on any labor claims or back charges for removal/replacement of parts or fixture, loss of revenue, substitute or temporary product, Estimated Ship Date (“ESD”) delays, and shipping costs. Where a defective product or component is repaired and/or replaced under this warranty, the balance of the original warranty period shall remain effective. This warranty applies only to product that has been properly handled, installed and maintained according to TSLC instructions.

This warranty excludes and is voided by defects resulting from unsupported ambient temperature ranges, improper installation, improper placement of fixtures, construction material or debris, electrical surge, improper electrical supply, fluctuations of electrical current or voltage, electrostatic discharge, corrosive/ sulfuric environments, failure to follow applicable electrical codes, natural or induced mechanical oscillation, environmental disasters, tampering or modifications made by any parties other than TSLC, fire, animal or insect activity, and vandalism or civil disturbances. Products returned to TSLC through warranty claims must bear no markings.

In the case of a possible warranty claim and as a condition to TSLC’s obligation under this Limited Warranty, the purchaser must:

  1. email and request an RMA Number (Return Material Authorization),
  2. issue a PO for replacement parts
  3. Return the product (Freight Prepaid) at the purchaser’s expense, together with the original PO# or invoice copy of purchase.

Warrantied replacements will be sent at TSLC’s expense. If failure is deemed user error, replacement parts will need to be purchased.

This warranty does not cover the following:

  1. Failure of a TSLC product due to improper installation or maintenance.
  2. Misuse, abuse, accident, shipping damage, use of improper cleaning chemicals.
  3. Labor for removal or replacement, shipping and/or transportation charges.
  4. Damage to related components or costs incurred due to loss of use of end product.
  5. The use of heavy power tools for installing the product or unauthorized repairs.
  6. Submersion in waterways, fountains, pools, wet locations, etc.
  7. Over-driving of current and/or voltage. Exceeding product specifications.
  8. Modifying and/or changing original product.
  9. Connectors must be hand tightened. Use of hand tools to tighten HB products will damage inside wires.

Implied Warranties

This warranty is in lieu of any other warranties expressed or implied. Any warranties implied by law are limited in duration to the duration of this warranty, except in those states where prohibited by law. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or limitations or exclusions of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. Any models or samples shown or relied upon prior to purchase of the product served only to indicate the type of goods, which would be sold to the original purchaser. Such samples or models create no warranty that the product shall conform to the samples or models.
